The Boland Cavaliers will face the Toyota Free State XV in Bloemfontein on Saturday (28/03/2015) with a new captain in Fullback Eric Zana. Zana takes over the captaincy duties from Gavin Annandale, who sustained an injury in the Vodacom Cup match against DHL Western Province this past weekend.
As the team’s regular vice-captain and a senior member of the Cavaliers’ Vodacom Cup squad, Zana’s experience should enable him to steer Boland’s ship with confidence. Zana is also the team’s primary goal kicker and a player with proven game breaking abilities.

Eightman Sikhumbuzo Notshe scored four tries as DHL Western Province beat Boland Cavaliers 25-10 (halftime 15-7) on Saturday afternoon at the Caledon Sports Ground to start their 2015 Vodacom Cup campaign with a bonus-point victory.
Notshe scored a brace within the first ten minutes with flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis converting the second effort. The WP led 12-0 before captain and lock Gavin Annandale narrowed the gap with his effort and fullback Eric Zana added the extras.
After an all action opening 20 minutes the game slowed down considerably and the only further action saw Cavaliers flanker Freginald Africa yellow-carded. Du Plessis kicked a penalty and the score of 15-7 remained until the halftime interval.
The second half continued where the first left off in terms of non-scoring before Zana made it 15-10 with a penalty after 55 minutes.
The game remained dull before Notshe went over for his third try and suddenly WP could think of not only the victory but also of a possible bonus point.
A rash on substitutions threatened to stop the rhythm that the WP had generated but Notshe scored his team's vital fourth try.
Boland Cavaliers: Try: Gavin Annandale. Conversion: Eric Zana. Penalty: Zana.
DHL Western Province: Tries: Sikhumbuszo Notshe (4). Conversion: Jean-Luc Du Plessis. Penalty: Du Plessis.
